This is the part in the Sunken City progressional series of quests. It is given by Investigator Curfeld after you complete the Finding the Investigator quest.

You must search the barrels in the Blackshield area until you find one of Curfeld's notes and then return to him. This can be found at +36.42, +2.28, -20.33.

This opens up the Finding the Shrine quest.

I have been sent to assist Investigator Curfeld in the Sunken City. This officer of the Dismal Rage says that some of his research materials have been stolen by the Blackshields, a gang of pirates that is apparently storing some of their stolen goods in the barrels near where they reside. I should search through the barrels and find his stolen research. If I have to dispatch a few of the Blackshields as part of the process, I don't think anyone from the Dismal Rage would mind.

Stage 1

I need to search barrels near the Blackshields in the Sunken City to find the stolen research for Curfeld.

Start:	Examine barrels
Complete:	I found the research notes inside a barrel.

I found the stolen research materials inside a barrel.

Stage 2

I should take the stolen research back to Investigator Curfeld in the Sunken City. I can reach the Sunken City by using any of the bells in and around the City of Freeport.

Start:	Return to Investigator Curfeld
Complete:	I have returned to Investigator Curfeld.

I have returned the research to Investigator Curfeld.

I found Investigator Curfeld's stolen research inside one of the Blackshields' barrels and have returned the papers to Curfeld. Maybe he won't be so curt with me now.
