This is a catalog quest. It is initiated by reading the book of the same name, which can be purchased from an NPC in each of the three faction houses (Court of the Blades, Coin or Truth).
You must catalog (using the catalog skill) the following monsters in Maj'Dul:
- Blades Guard
- Camel
- Cheering Fan
- Cobra
- Coin Guard
- Elephant
- Kadaren 15, 137, 158
- Monkey
- Pit Fighter -207, 155, 38
- Poor Beggar
- Sha'ir
- Skygazer
- Snake Charmer
- Tears Grifter
- Truth Guard
The reward is a furniture version of the book, which can be placed in your house and read.

I simply killed the Kadaren and the cheering fans spawned. They didn't stay long..about 2 mins or so.
If memory serves (it's been a while) the cheering fans are part of a script when the fighters are headed to the arena.

killed a kadaren and a cheering fan didn't spawn, lol
they can be found just next to the House of Blades, at the stairs that lead down to the champion's area. If they are not up, just either wait or return later.

Cheering fans spawn at 6:45 pm gametime.

Kadaren are found outside Champion's Court during daylight hours. Replaced by cheering fans and pitfighters during other times

been trying for days now to get him, but so far nothing in track or to be seen.

Cheering fan spawned at 6am and at 1pm and stayed for just a few min at loc, 27.48,149.23,113.32 just outside the Champions arena and also at loc, 30.83,137.31,171.12. just before the stairs leading down to the lvl of the Champions arena.

I have found pitfighters near the court of truth (-184, , 44,39)
Elephants are right thru the door where you spawn into Maj, they are in the area right before crossing the first bridge

Save the run-around of trying to get close enough to a Sha'ir. Go into the golden sceptor on the second floor.

The best place to find the Sha'ir is to go into the barter house near the Cout of the Coin-there's always one floating around in there well within range of Catalog.

The best way I found to get the Sha'ir is to stand up by the Skygazers and wait for the Sha'ir to fly over your head and catalogue as soon as he is over top of you.

Cheering fans are a timed spawn at the Champions Court - confirmed.

Cheering Fans will briefly spawn outside of a tower after it has been turned to a different faction.
