He will re-pop next to Oglethorpe after about 5 minutes or so.

You can re-start the dialog with Oglethorpe without discarding the quest. You can target The Arachnomechanicon but you can't attack until he gets down to the bottom of the hill, very near the ebon drakes.

He pops as a ^Heroic.

It tends to run around at the bottom of the hill that leads up to Oglethorpe, just be patient and it will run by you

Speak with Oglethorpe. A minute later the Arachnomechanicon takes off down the hill. Once at the bottom it becomes aggro (46 ^). Chase it without waiting for all the text, or it may despawn.

Kill the Arachnomechanicon, and return to Oglethorpe for your reward.

The Arachnomechanicon has gone haywire and is running amok in Steamfont! Oglethorpe and Emery have requested your help in dealing with the rampaging mecha-monstrosity.

Stage 1

Find the rampaging Arachnomechanicon in the Steamfont Mountains and destroy it for Oglethorpe and Emery.

Start:	Find and destroy the Arachnomechanicon.
Complete:	Killed the Arachnomechanicon.

You have tracked down and destroyed the Arachnomechanicon.

Stage 2

Return to Oglethorpe and Emery and inform them of their loss.

Start:	Return to Oglethorpe and Emery.
Complete:	Returned to Oglethorpe and Emery.

I have returned to Oglethorpe and Emery with news of the destruction of their creation.

You have managed to hunt down and destroy the rampaging Arachnomechanicon. Oglethorpe and Emery were unhappy at its loss, but have already begun creating a new one -- one that creates not only fabulous frosted cakes, but cinnamon apple cookies as well!
