i killed anything with bramble in the name just for good measure. the area to cover isnt very large and the respawns are quick. after about 2 hours hammerthorn spawned by the road (just south of the drafling tower island). he is 42^^^.

I just killed all the bramble terrors and beasts, ^^^ on the south road. I do not recall which spawned him, but I spotted him at loc -481.69, -0.97, 164.83 or very close.

This quest is given by Commisioner Dogweed after you complete the Cleansing the Corrupted quest.

He will reward you with a new necklace if you kill Hammerthorn in Rivervale.

Commissioner Dogweed believes they have identified one source of the evil infesting Rivervale. I should seek out and destroy the creature known as Hammerthorn in the area where the brambles have come to life.

Stage 1

I'm supposed to find the heart of evil that is infesting Rivervale and destroy it.

Start:	I need to slay the horrific bramble creature called Hammerthorn.
Complete:	I've slain Hammerthorn.

I've destroyed the Hammerthorn, but do not think this was the heart of evil that is plaguing Rivervale.

Stage 2

I've destroyed the Hammerthorn. I should return to Commissioner Dogweed and inform him of current events.

Start:	I should return to Commissioner Dogweed.
Complete:	I've spoken with Commissioner Dogweed.

I've spoken with Commissioner Dogweed and told him of the events that had transpired.

While the creature I defeated wasn't the heart of the evil infesting Rivervale, at least I have helped eliminate one source of the corruption.
