So now you've killed the cat, it's time to re-animate it! There is a scroll in your inventory.
Target the dead kitty and then right-click the scroll and select use.
Speak with Apprentice Aulerun again to finish the quest. He will now give you the "Control Over Death" quest.

After using the spell, it appears to have reanimated the corpse, but only in bone, not in flesh.
