Just finished killing the profit (lvl 49 ^) easy as can be. The post that stated to kill all the PH's at one time was right on. The Profit spawned right after I finished. Was a little worried at first though cause the PH's didn't pop for about 20 minutes as i stood there. However, someone may have killed them before I got there.
This is on the EQ2 Extended server Freeport
LVL 57 Bruiser..took them all no problem.
The profit dropped a crap item: Bracers of Sunbeams; Attunable Lore LVL 46 leather for fighters, priests and scouts. Only 35 Health ang 65 PWR

Examine A Piece of Ancient Parchment. This item is a body drop off A Desert Madman, A Desert Maniac and A Desert Lunatic in the Sinking Sands and A Parched Desert Lunatic and A Desert Prophet in the Pillars of Flame.
- Speak with Planetologist Ahkar in Maj'dul at -152, 177, -124 .
- Find Harshaa at -405, -155, -1331 . When you hail Harshaa and work through some dialogue about him not helping you, 3 A Desert Maniac will jump you. After you protect Harshaa, speak with him again. He will send you out to kill The Prophet of the Desert.
- Travel to the altar at -651, -105, -514 . There are four groups of desert lunatics around the altar. Kill them to spawn The Prophet. Kill him and then examine the altar. Return to Harshaa who will tell you to leave him alone.
- Return to the Planetologist
- Investigate Dry Wind Island and find the pirates who robbed the Qeynosians.
- Go to the boxes stacked on Dry Wind Island at -2164, -228, -24 .
- Upon zone in a Samiel Marauder will attack your group.
- One of the boxes is a zone in. Zone in and kill Lieutenant Kielmal.
- Open the chest at the aft of the boat just under the ships wheel to get the items!
- Return to Planetologist Ahkar for the next step. Do not click the ship's wheel before you get the chest.
- Return to your home city and go see Librarian Zabnolique in North Freeport, or Librarian Dungil in South Qeynos. They will send you back to Planetologist Ahkar.
- It's now time to destroy the legions of Rahotep! Gather a group or two and head to the Twin Tears in the Sinking Sands.
- As you approach Rahotep his legions will spawn. Kill 4 waves of 55^^/55^^^ mobs, including two named (Oracle Ostet, and Imi-ra Ahketan). Rahotep will then attack with two scarab pets. He is 55 Epic x2, as are both his pets. If you die, you will have to wait 2 hours to try again.
- Return to 'Planetologist Ahkar' in Maj'Dul to receive your reward.

Every time I "hit" the pirate chest it transports me to the pirate ship and then bounces me back to the desert. Says I need a "key". Where is the key to be found? Thanks

Take a lvl 55 or higher Necro with your group - they have a Charm spell that works on any "undead", like Rahoteps legions,, so let the Necro charm one mob in each of the waves during the fight, then everyone in the party can regen power between the waves. Once regenned, let the necro drop the Charm, kill just the one zombie, then repeat on the next wave.
Won't work on the last wave though, killing the beetles first is probably the way to go at that point. Unless you have a mez class mage with you... then it should all be a cake-walk.

Hi, now it's the third time I try to do the step 4, (kill the desert lunatics), but the prophete never get out. The first time I kill them 20 time. Somebody can tell my why The Prophet of the Desert never come.

Go to the area in Pillars of Flame called Prophets Peak (kinda makes sense, eh?) and kill the lunatics and madmen there by the tents. There is a named that will spawn there also. Be sure to run around the area too as the Prophets Peak carpet is in that area, as well as some Discovery XP...

Just to post this in case anyone else has to suffer the pick up group with no organization and insane stubbornness. You will not get credit for Rahotep kill if done with more than two groups :)

Ok did today all the waves duoing with 70 necro and 70 mystic, fighter pet.
Pretty easy if u root last mob to let pet regen power.
BUT Rahotep still epic so death eheh.
AH need ubah power regen on healer + manastone+canni cap.
Think it's trioable with any 70 tank.

Don't know if this is mentioned (I didn't see it), but Rahotep does a full heal once the first time you get him to about 50% hp. It was a bit of a shock. =:o

Spent nearly 2hrs killing the 4 mobs around the alter individually. No prophet spawn. Then decided to kill all 4 mobs at once. In doing that the Prophet mob spawned. It took 2 attempts at killing all 4 mobs to get the actual Prophet to spawn so dont get too disheartened if he desnt pop first time. Hope this info is of help to others who have been struggling.
No amount of staying far back will keep your single group from getting low / out of power.
The mobs auto rush you leaving no time to regen.
Breaking an encounter will break the event as well.
You need good power regen in the group.
2 furies, 1 50 ranger, 1 55 paladin, and 59 conj couldnt do this.

Anyone know if there's a Librarian in Kelethin? I switched residency from Q to Kele and now the Q librarian won't update the quest for me (he will talk to me, my Q faction is 5000/indifferent) and I can't find a librarian in Kelethin. So I'm stuck on the speak to the librarian step before Rahotep.

Hmmm, I think that's why SOE have made the parchment easier to get, as there have been many-a-times when I have killed lunatics or prophets in PoF and they have dropped it.
After spending ages in SS trying to get the damned thing, I actually did go to a broker and buy it only to go to PoF later and find it drops quite frequently >:(

Interesting note on the parchment you need to start quest...You can trade the parchment after examining it to another person and they can examine it and get the quest and they can trade to someone else who can get the quest..It sure beats tryin to spawn the paper for a whole group..Thats how I got my starter a friend gave it to me and then I gave it to a guildie and we've been passin it around..enjoy =)

I found a "A Piece of Ancient Parchment" on a lunatic in PoF yesterday. Didn't kill more than 20 before it dropped.

We finished this fight on the second attempt, as the first time we evacuated as we were OOP. We noticed that Rahotep was drawing health from the beatles and then healing them, so in our 2nd attempt we killed the beatles immediately and then focused on Rahotep.
Our strategy was pretty straight forward.
(1)Leave a single ^ mob from each of the first four waves to regen any needed power (mostly not necessary)
(2)kill the beatles with Rahotep first
(3)focus on Rahotep using as many interrupts as possbile to prevent warding and healing.
We killed him with 5 level 60 toons with no legendary and barely and adept III amongst us. His health is not the issue, but more so his ability to ward quickly.
60 toons: Guardian, Bruiser, Defiler, Fury, and Dirge.

When spawning Rahotep you need to organize the raid far away from the spawn location. Earlier today when raiding him someone got close before anyone else was around and spawned him. After he died Rhaotep will depop fast and then it's a 2-3 hour wait. Was 2.5 hours for me last night.
The key is to assemble the raid east of his position on the edge of the tear close to the tents. When your ready send the MT and 1 quest holder to his spawn point.
The Rahotep NPC will appear breifly, depop, then repop along with his army. His NPC will not be up after 2 hours. He pops on proximity, so you'll have no idea when the timer is up unless you get close and just spawn him.
If he dosent pop, "back off" and retry every 10-15 mins or so. Camping on his spawn point will get alot of people 1-shotted unless your raiding him with upper levels.
The worst part of this quest is not knowing for sure when his event will be avaliable. Could be 15 mins since he was last poped or 3 hours. :(

Zeddelin makes spawning the Prophet sound easier than it is. Perhaps he got lucky, but the usual is a series of kills, repeated all around the altar, until the Prophet appears. Could take one round, but more likely to take several. Prepare for a camp...

uummmmm... it says in my quest journal that the personal statis reward is 32000 or something like that.
This part is pretty quick, just kill the 4 groups of lunatics, and the Prophet spawns.

Spent most of a day trying to spawn Prophet,checked today and he was up,yay! Was a little bit of a nuisance,had to fd the adds,they had me in the red.

Just tried doing the 4th part of this quest and my grp cleared the PHs about 8 or 9 times and the Prophet never showed up. We gave up for now. Seems to be bugged or something.

I've spent an accumulative time of 10 hours killing madmen, maniacs, and lunatics in SS trying to get this drop. Last night I spent 2 hours in DoF trying to get it off lunatics. For the love of god, raise the odds on the body drop! This is ridiculous! We (the players) shouldn't have to put our ass in a sling just to get a "chance" at this HQ.

I just finished spawning the Prophet. Cleared lunies, PH after every clear. Prophet popped after 6th clear. Was bugged before but seems to work ok on Guk now.

I'm not sure what mobs it's *supposed* to drop off - goodness knows I spent hours and hours of my life clearing those mobs around the Prophet's altar to no avail, but enough water flasks to float a boat. Then I was in PoF and was clearing mobs on the west side of Prophet's Peak - male and female human models (lunatics?) and got it on like my 2nd or 3rd kill there.

It happened again. Rahotep spawned while I was NOT in a raid group. it happened a couple weeks ago also when we failed to kill him and I camped there on top of him. when I logged in later that day I was attack as I zoned in not even in a group.

Just completed on Najena with 8 peeps. Trick to spawning Rahotep is to have someone who's at the stage in quest go down to the water on the north side. That will spawn him non-targetable on the ramp for about 10 secs. He then pops, and respawns with his legions further back from the water, where the ring starts. If you run low, have a chanter keep one mob from each wave standing, or single tank mez one mob while everyone uses manastones, FT, whatever - you're going to need a LOT of dps to get through him if you're raid is low on people.
Also, as an update to the quest - at lvl 60, was awarded 43k status, NOT 70k as listed. On a sour note, Rahotep and the other named mob who spawned in the second wave did not count for AP.

Don't know if its a recent change to the quest or if the pirate ship instance is related to player level. I took my 62 Fury in there, invised, to see if I could solo the mobs. All of them spawned as level 54^^^. None of mobs could see thru invis so I beat a hasty retreat by sneaking around the back of some boxes and calling out :)
Of Note Once the army has formed and starts sending waves at you, do not run at rahotep, aparently it will cause the encounter to despawn. Someone in our group said that someone did that and that why it despawned and I said well its not like it says that in even ogamings walk through and the guy said well ignorance and the guy who had run at rahotep was still in group. Some people are so damn nose to heaven rude. Please add the advance of rahotep before time to fight him can cause despawn of encounter. thanks.

I went to Harshaa and I was expecting the 3 51 triple-down arrows to come out and me beat them, but it was 3 lvl 53 double-down arrow monsters that came out and i couldn't handle it alone.

I was in the Sinking Sands, for about 20mins hitting green lunatics and getting nothing. Moved into PoF to take the ones around Prophets Peak, to at least get some exp while doing it, and still nothing for a good hour and a half. Was on the mobile phone to a mate, who has the quest, basically b'tchin about the complete absence of the parchment when it drops right then. After that I saw two more parchments in the space of about ten minutes while trying to get the Prophet to spawn for step 4. Mate saw a similar thing happen, so the moral is grp with someone trying to spawn the Prophet, as the starter seems to drop quite often there.

Is the HQ starter drop bugged lately, or has the drop rate slowed down?
I have gotten the drop twice for my two toons, with no problem, and no more than a few kills. Helped a friend recently, killing the lunatics, madmen and prophets in PoF and SS... killed probably 100+, between the two of us, at least 80 water flasks and several chests, but no ancient parchment.

I solo'd everything up to Rahotep, you can use invis on pirate ship and just kill the one near entry point and Lieutenant Kielmal.

It basically turned into an auto attack fight in the end, but I wouldnt say it was too close, though we were nearly out of power.

On his body I found a piece of parchment that was falling apart. On the parchment was a drawing of a strange being near an altar. There were also characters written on the parchment. Unfortunately, I have no idea what any of this means. I should attempt to find out more about the madmen and this piece of parchment. I may be able to find a desert expert in Maj'Dul.
I have found a man named Planetologist Ahkar. He explained a little about the potential meanings of the parchment and suggested I look for a man named Harshaa, who roams the desert in the Sinking Sands.
I found Harshaa in the dunes near the Twin Tears in the Sinking Sands. Shortly after I began talking to him we were attacked by several desert madmen. I must defeat any enemies that attack Harshaa, so that he will feel safe speaking with me.
I have eliminated the desert madmen attacking Harshaa. I should see if he will tell me more about the parchment now.
After defeating the men attacking Harshaa, he explained the drawing on the parchment to me. He says it is a picture of an ancient ceremony that calls The Prophet of the desert. Apparently, the crazed men who roam the desert worship the prophet and his promise.
I have killed The Prophet of the desert. I can now return to Harshaa and put his mind at ease. Hopefully, he will then tell me more about this strange cult and what is really going on out here.
I examined the altar and it is indeed enchanted. I felt the overwhelming urge to stay in this place. Luckily, my mind is not torn by the ravages of hunger and thirst like the madmen who are drawn here. In addition to being enchanted the altar depicts scenes of a large army and a great leader. The writing on the altar is the same as the writing on the parchment.
I returned to Harshaa and explained what happened with The Prophet and the altar. He is acting very strange and refuses to speak to me. It seems something to do with the altar has spooked him.
I told Ahkar of all the events that have taken place and everything that Harshaa has told me. Ahkar said there were legends of an army that once ruled this desert land long before recorded history. Unfortunately, he knew very little of the legend. He did mention that recently there was a group Qeynosian archaeologists, who were attacked by pirates, that unearthed a strange weapon and several artifacts from around the same time period as this army was supposed to exist.
I found the pirates that robbed the Qeynosian archaeologists. I searched, but could find no sign of the artifacts. There were several large crates waiting to be loaded onto their ship, so I stowed myself in one and now I am aboard the Samiel pirate ship.
I found the key to the chest on Lieutenant Kielmal.
I have taken the artifacts from the Samiel pirate ship.
I took the artifacts to Ahkar. He was able to decipher the engravings on a scepter that was among the artifacts. He says it is the name "Rahotep." Ahkar says that the name means nothing to him and I should return home to one of the great libraries to attempt to find out more information. He promised that he would also do some research to help figure out the meaning of this name.
I found a librarian who told me a great deal about what was once the Desert of Ro and the history of Rahotep. He also told me of a great scepter that Rahotep was fabled to wield. I believe the scepter I retrieved may be the Scepter of Rahotep.
I need to take the piece of Rahotep's armor to Planetologist Ahkar in Maj'Dul. Ahkar will then re-enchant the Scepter of Rahotep for me.
My army and I have destroyed Rahotep and his legions. I was also able to retrieve a piece of Rahotep's armor to take to Ahkar.
I returned to Ahkar. He took the piece of Rahotep's armor and began chanting in a very strange tongue. There was a bright flash of light and then Ahkar presented the Scepter of Rahotep to me. It is a very powerful weapon from a very ancient time.I have faced many trials and learned a great deal about the Legend of Rahotep and his scepter. I have defeated Rahotep to retrieve an item of his that was used to re-enchant his scepter. I now am the owner of the powerful Scepter of Rahotep.
