Though I tricked the genie Khalhan al'Azhar into going back into the lamp, I am trapped inside with him. He insists that I make my 'decision' on how I must die by running his gauntlet and fighting the creatures within.
I have spoken to Khalhan.
I have survived the first part of the 'trial.'
I have survived the second part of the 'trial.'
I have survived the third part of the 'trial.'
I have survived the fourth part of the 'trial.'
I spoke to Khalhan al'Azhar.I have survived the gauntlet of Khalhan al'Azhar. After a 'disappointing' lack of ability to make a decision, the genie cast me out of his prison, where he remains trapped until someone else frees him. Here's hoping they are as fortunate or skilled as I am.

I did this quest on 6/1/12. Rubbing the lamp makes the NPC appear and he took me into the zone for the trials.
How do I get this quest as a 53 mystic working towards Coin Faction....

This is definitely a scaled encounter as my wife and I did it each and the mobs were adjusted to our different levels.

The information stated is incorrect. The lamp is found on Pirates Perch. The quest was cake for a 48 Illusionist solo.

This was breeze for lvl 50 Pally normal gear. Cyclops are the only one that came close to killing me.

Wow, maybe I just got lucky but this was a pretty easy solo quest to me. I'm a 46 Defiler with regular gear and Master lvl spells. I did not have to heal at all, just one ward b4 each fight. (Grp ward for 1822 pts of all dmg.) The cyclops were wussies. I just feared one while I mangled the other one, (both were 46VV to me.) Quick easy quest with nice loot, I will give the +10 INT ring to my caster alt.

This is NO cakewalk! The four scorpions are the easiest. It's VERY hard to get the I cyclopses, especially for a Ranger. They chain stun and root. If rangers cannot kite them, you're pulverized. Even with legendary armor and accessories, these are extremely tough. Good Luck!

I did this as a 51 assassin in common player made gear.
I didn't have trouble until the cyclopses came. They chain stun and they had me helpless for a solid 10-15 seconds. I managed to drop one, stun the other and assassinated him, making it out of the conflict with 20% health left.

Did this tonight with normal pristine and only 2 master with rest being adept 1. You don't need uber gear.

Totally doable for a 51 zerker w/ EBBC, fulginate forged pieces, and someer items from DC and all adept skills

Level 51 Brigand here... Had a Cobalt Chain armor, Imbued pants, Serrated Bone Dirk and Imbued Short Spear, no Adept 3's or Masters other than those in char advancement... Pretty much a cakewalk.
Most of the mobs were resistant to stuns, however, so do not entirely count on backstabs to get the job done. Just fire off the big debuffs, and then attack like you usually do. They'll fall rather promptly. Nothing Heroic or whatever there.

50 Berserker did it pretty easily...moderately geared...cobalt BP and BBC. My health went down to 20% or so during one of the fights, but other than that it was no problem.

47 Templar, just did this tonight. As in any other encounter in the game, as Tago said, make sure all your important spells are at least adept3 and you have good gear.
I killed all four waves and only the last two were challenging. Greater Intercession up all the times, debuff, then HO dd's, rinse repeat.

seems to be bugged sometimes...
the last wave was compound king vach AND charra'zon (I hav already defeated him at the 2nd waves)...
I'am lvl 49 .. so king vach was 50 and charra'zon was 49 ... succed in defeated the scorpion but be slain by the king ... I've turn him red :s

Did this as a lvl45 Guardian. First were 3 scorpions lvl44 w/ three downs each. Next was 45, next was two 45's with two down each, finally a 46 to finish. Was a piece of cake for me. Might differ per lvl, seems ideal lvl for this is at 45.

It's doable for a lvl 45 Coercer. You just need to know the tricks if you are a mage, that's all :)

No way to do this at 46 unless you have important spells as adept 3's and higher and really good gear.

Just did this quest. 52 Inquisitor, avg gear, couple forged rare items. Wouldn't say it was easy, but I beat it the first time without any problems. Just had to take my time during each fight, and rest between them.

Is this bugged since LU17?? I tried today to eenter and finish this off as lvl 50 Temp. Genie won't talk to me. Havn't /bugged it yet though I'd wait to see if I'm doing something wrong. I even tried deleteing the quest, still no talkie

did this again after seeing so many piece of cake comments... lvl 54 pally outfitted with cobalt blah blah top of the line stuff. now yeah its seems alot easier. asked another pally lower lvl 48 to do it and he got killed several times. go figure. I solod emperor fist and I can say that this gauntlet was harder than soloing emperor fist. believe wat u wanna believe on ogaming..

On Drywind Isle in the Sinking Sands you can find a faded metal lamp laying on the beach at -2099.71, -232.94, -141.97 . Rubbing this lamp will spawn Khalhan Al-Azhar. Speaking with him will allow you to gain entry to the Azhar's Penitence instance.
- Your mercenary will be suspended in this zone.
Once you are inside you will find Khalhan waiting for you. You must then undergo his trials. The trial takes place in waves of monsters. After each wave you must speak with Khalhan Al-Azhar again to receive the next stage. The waves are:
- A Group of sand scorpions
- Charra'zon, a giant sand scorpion.
- Zathos and Uphian, two cyclops.
- mob:King Vach, a giant cobra
