Ok I'm asking this here because I assume you have all done the last straw quest ;)
For the last Straw quest it says we are meant to kill Enslaved Warboars, is this correct because they dont give the usual 'You didn't recieve any quest updates' messages that most other quests offer, is this normal for this quest?... so far I have slaughtered several hundred of them lol
Any help appreciated.

I'm killing the mob that the guide recomends but do not get any messages of any kind and so far after killing about 400 now, still have no key :(

It's apparent that the moppets can appear at any of the following buildings. They randomly move around. After picking up each of the moppets I also destroyed the straw for each of them. I had straw in my inventory and wasn't able to pick up the next moppet in the order until it was removed from my inventory, he then spawned right away. Tailor moppet was found in Cask's general store. The Fisherman moppet was found in the loom. The Farmer was found on the top floor of Middlehill general store. The Mayor was found in Roundbelly's store. I've also seen moppets in the building with the Lamia assassin. I then found the Deputy at -235,+4,-213. Finally the Marshal was killed as he strolled by the Loom where Grumbleruut is just as stated below.

I just found him (by looking for the big wolf mainly) at -220.96,-12.76,-68.54

I had a strange problem found the marshall but his dire wolf wasnt around and id get him to about half health and hed run away from me and break the encounter...very frustrating.

Found the Marshal Moppet at -163.32, -2.99, 159.49.
To update on the Deputy Moppet he is level 35^^^.
The marshal moppet and his wolf are both 39^^ and patrol the paths counterclockwise and go to the eastern half of the zone as well. Instead of waiting I suggest running clockwise.

I am having trouble with picking up the Tailor Moppet. And no, I don't have any straw in inventory..anyone know what seems to do the trick?

I cannot pick up the tailor moppet. Then I destroyed the straw for tailor moppet, then it was possible to picking the tailor moppet.
Mai be that you have the straw for tailor moppet in a bank slot???

If this quest will not update for you, farmer moppet or other, look through all your inventory and see whether straw for that moppet is in your inventory. If so, destroy that straw. Find the moppet again. The quest should then update. That worked for me with the farmer moppet.

Farmer Moppet found inside the building at -16, -18, -102, but he cannot be picked up. Is it possible there is more than one Farmer Moppet?

Found him today at general store.
I noticed lots of people had trouble with Farmer Moppet and send bug reports - anyone recently have problems picking him up - cause I can't and I don't have his straw in my inventory.
The post by Kiana Calsdoter on 7-15-05 was spot on about how to locate Marshal Moppet, rather than running around looking for him. It worked perfect for me! "The marshal moppet and his dire wolf run by Grumblerutt's hut every 10 minutes. They were lvl 36 Heroic. Duo'd him too, no significant problems." Thanks Kiana!
I want to add my comment here after doing this quest.
First off, the moppets can spawn anywhere (excluding the Marshall as he roams). If you can get EQ2maps where there are locations on where the possible places are.
Secondly ... roam around. Most may not be able to do this if you are a low level, but they moppets will be somewhere on one of those locations.
Good luck and it takes patience.

Everytime I went into the loom, the fisherman moppet was in there. Not the farmer moppet as listed above.

OK, two quick things. One read all the post, several of them state how you can not continue the quest if you have already picked up the moppet and are trying to pick up the one you need until you destroy the one in your inventory. Two, what ever you do, do not keep the straw (no i was not that dumb) but however I was dumb enough to hit the "esc" key while in conversation with sir tatters and lost the update for the next quest. Just a heads up.

Oh, and the mayor moppet , south of southern bridge, by rivergate, on shore. Both times.
Did this twice now, each time tailor moppet was behind tree sw corner of zone, fisherman moppet was by Grumblerutt, the farmer moppet was in Brushfoots General store(NW part of zone). I did see the tailor moppet also in one of the southern buildings, but the fisherman is the sneaky one!

Ok forget my last comment about not being able to pickup the moppet.
I had picked him up earlier not knowing I had that need and the straw was in inventory.

Darn mayor mop is being guarded by two tainted nymphs and I can't pick him up even while invis!

I found my tailor moppet in roundbelly's general store, the fisherman moppet in the loom, the farmer moppet in either brushfoot's or middlehill's general stores and also in the jum jum shack. I found my mayor moppet at roundbelly's again. I can also confirm that the deputy moppet spawns behind brushfoot's store.

I had the same problem picking up a moppet, make sure you didn't pick one up when you shouldn't have. They are lore and stay in your inventory. Destroy the one you got when you weren't supposed to then try again.

The LOAM should read the Loom and its a building at -192, -28, to the east of the Fools Gold. Grumblerutt is inside in a room in the back. Be wary of the two aggro seamstresses that may be up.

The Look can be found when you enter RV turn & at the next fork go Directly East to the Loom. You will get a in game pop up "The Loom" a very small building.

When you complete the quest and go back to Sir Tatters, make sure you don't choose the option "I'm keeping the straw". A guildie did this and now can't get the next quest, even though this one completed.

Deputy was found behind building at -35, -175
The fisherman moppet is sometimes found at -135, 17, -255. This is behind a tree where Blightwhip and fetid blightrats spawn. I have seen him here on multiple occasions.

One Warning: the building that you find Grumblerutt in (the Loom) has an ambush waiting for you consisting of 2 corrupted seamstresses, and they are VERY tough. Both 37-38^^ .

This quest is given by Sir Tatters after you complete the 'In Defense of the Flower Patch' and 'The Last Straw' quests.).
He asks you to scour the village of Rivervale for Grumblerutt. He is found at the Loom -192, -19, -12 , but is a rare spawn.
After defeating Grumblerutt you will need to inspect several moppets in Rivervale. These are dolls that you inspect, and spawn randomly in Rivervale. They are:
- Tailor Moppet - Usually in the first building on the right as you enter the zone -68, 9.15, 168 or -114.5, -26.7, 13 . Occasionally at -75,-18,107 .
- Fisherman Moppet - Usually behind the house with the Lamia Assassin -135, 17, -255 also at -40, -10, -177 .
- Farmer Moppet - Often in the Loom with Grumblerutt, sometimes at -12,0, -104 inside the corrupted brigand house. Also reported at -16.8, -18, -102.61 (first building on left) and -217, 0,-131 .
- Mayor Moppet - spotted at:
- -220, 0, 222
- -200, 0, 6
- -200, 0, 221
- -202.13, -8,87, 106.88
- -342.30, 9.75, 59.22
After gathering these you must kill the Deputy Moppet -225, -4, 110 ~or~ -235, 4, -213 , ~or~ -113, -26, 15 , ~or~ -35, 0, -175 , followed by the Marshall Moppet (The marshal moppet and his dire wolf run by Grumblerutt's hut every 10 minutes. They are lvl 36 Heroic). Both of these can be found in Rivervale.
Completing this quest opens up the "A Small Matter of Bristles" quest. (see related quests)
