This quest is initiated by reading the book The Murkies. This book is sold by Sage Navarius Orvalis at the Academy in North Freeport. It consists of a series of kill tasks in The Serpent Sewers. After each step you must read the book again to receive the next. They are:

- 4 crazed channel menders
- 7 murkwater inducts
- 6 murkwater inducts
- 5 drudge globules
- 7 murkwater inducts
- 5 murkwater inducts
- 1 murkwater abbetor
- 1 murkwater abbetor
The reward is a furniture version of the book, which can be placed in your home.
