This quest is triggered by examining the item entitled Three Black Rings. This item drops drops from various mobs in Nektulos, including: Cackling Cadavers, Owlbears, Grinnins, Ashland Wisps, Dragoon Patrolmen, Nerius Vandals/Pirates and Nerius Crabs.

You will need to feed the ring's thirst by killing 40 mobs in Nektulos Forest, any mob appears to work. The reward is a decent ring.

This item dropped off an ashland wisp in Nekk Forrest for me tonight. It was one of the non heroic wisps that spawn at the spires since the last major patch 2 days ago.

The black rings also drop off of Owlbears. Had this drop in a group after killing about 300 or so owlbears once.

Great SOE... this quest was not only reset after the big patch, it was completely deleted from my quest book!!! Now I have found the trigger item (three black rings) again, but when I examine it ("put them on"), no "new quest" window pops up, in fact, nothing happens. Any ideas?

If you did the quest before the big patch, can you destroy the Pox ring and do the quest again to get the new ring?

Lol Sorlina... The quest changed in the "big patch" and it now gives the Three Band Ring. The previous reward was the Pox Ward Ring.

I don't know what all this Pox Ward Ring stuff is all about, but the reward I got last night for completing this quest is the Three Band Ring, screenshot found at:

Three Black Rings....Rings (plurar) that thirst.....Three Band Ring.....see a trend? Dunno where this Pox Ward Ring stuff comes from.

I got the quest trigger rings off of the Nerius crabs at the beach in Nektulos...so not just the cackling cadavers will drop :)
