I found him at 880.43,-58.87,6.69 under a tree with rocks next to it. Didnt need to kill any PH to get him it was arond 3am norrath standard time

You can find Rama'nai at 872.99, -59.14, 11.03, under a tree in the common lands just west of the Druid ring, I killed him at 10 am ish game time & whilst i was writing this he re-spawned so don't think u need the PH's

Rama'nai spawned at 9:30am game time (so time isnt a factor) between the plains hunters (under a tree) and the druid ring. It was closer to the plains hunters I would say though. You have to kill him and his pack of lionesses to get credit. They are all 18 elites, but they go down pretty fast.

One thing I'd thought that I'd mention that no one mentioned, Rama'nai nor his PH will spawn until after midnight. If it's not up, wait until midnight and then it'll respawn at the spot mentioned. I'm not sure on specifics of how long he will stay up, but I think that I was able to kill him for the last time around 6am or so and then he stopped respawning until after midnight. The times that I was looking for him, I got the ph about 10 straight times before I finally got him to respawn which happened to be the first respawn after I killed the ph when he spawned after midnight.

Ram spawned just under the camps with the plains hunters. East of the Druid rings.

The PH has Approx. respawn time of 5mins. The Location of the spawn is, 597,-60,-45. After a while he begins to wander around, once you kill him just run to this spot and 5mins later he should be up.

Spawned for me between the pool and the druid ring after killing the wandering pride lioness and clearing all lions and lionesses around the pools

Rama spawn at pre-update spot in front of the Ring of Nature. PH Wandering Pride Lioness spawned there also on regular intervals around 6 minutes.

Ok, just got Rama at 966, -321 after LU24. Killing lions near the pond may have been the trigger or he may have been up. In any case he's moved NW of the druid rings.

After LU24 patch, I haven't seen the big guy or the placeholders. Killed lions/carrion hounds/deer for hours. Is it definitely still near the druid ruins? :)

Killed the wandering pride lioness, then killed every single lion in the whole area, Rama'nai popped 2nd time. Easy kill at lvl 25

Anyone have any information as to where Rama'Nai spawns at post-LU24?
Confirmed, got Rama'nai to spawn after a couple of hours of killing the Wandering. He spawned just west of the Ring of Nature.

Maybe I was just lucky but I killed the Wandering 2 times, and on the second decided to go around killing other lions for fun and maybe a little loot. Get back to the spawn point and there sits Rama'Nai for me. Oh, and to get credit for the quest you do have kill his whole group, not that they are exactly hard, but it is somehting to keep in mind.

Killed 10 placeholders before he finally spawned. This first one I found on the far side of where Rama'Nai spawns. The next 4 spawned close to where Rama'Nai spawns. The last 5 spawned exactly on Rama'Nai's spot.

This quest can be trouble-some. Just run around the very edge of the valley and you will keep finding the Wandering Pride Lioness. You will have to kill her a few times and she will NOT spawn in the same spot. Rama'nai will spawn around the cords listed for the on the HQ page. It will be annoying one way or another.
I joined a player who had been waiting there for about an hour, killing lionesses. We grouped, killed more lionesses and waited for another solid 20 to 30 minutes before Rama'Nai appeared.

Just did exactly like the last poster. Killed only the PH, A Wandering Pride Lioness, about 4-5 times and then Rama'Nai spawned in exactly the same loc. +598, -59, -50
If you don't see the Wandering Pride Lioness when you first get there, run around til you find it and kill it. Then just run back to the spawn point, it will spawn there every time between 5 and 6 minutes.

Too get rama'nai too spawn you must kill all the groups of lionesses then kill the single pride lioness that spawns, seems too spawn in several spots around the out side of the field this will spawn a pride lioness with few male lions with her near the stone monument. Rinse and repeat tell Rama spawns.
So we know the PH is the pride lioness, who is the TR?

A Wandering Pride Lioness was a level 17 ^ mob. Killed at 11:49 AM game time, she repopped at 2:23 PM game time (yes, I'd killed all the lions in between.) She popped again at 4:49 PM game time. She popped again at 7:18 PM. At 9:46 PM a Wandering Pride Lioness popped again. Finally I stopped killing any other mob except her since I was getting bored. Ramanai popped at 02:54 am. So, as far as I can tell, there is no trigger mob.

Since the time of EQ1, SOE has used a system to spawn most named mobs. EQ2, did *not* initially use the system. But SOE decided to change most mobs over to it a few months after game went live. All posts so far have been incorrect concerning it and Rama'nai's spawn.
The system is Placeholder (PH), Trigger (TR). In order to spawn the majority of 'random' named mobs, both the PH and TR must be killed. If you kill the PH, and the TR is still up, the named will not spawn. Note: The TR can be any mob in the zone, but is usually in relative close proximity. It takes quite a bit of patience to figure out the identity of both mobs. Most people just do mass kill offs.

just killed Rama and confirming PH is 6 min repop, loc is right on @ +600, -59, -42 and the PH name is "a wandering Pride Lioness" lvl 17^. Thanks for all the info, was very helpful.

As of a Recent Patch Many of the Quest Mobs have PHs, Rama'nai has a "a Wanderering Pride Lioness" Lvl 17^ thats Non Agro & Seems to be about a 7min Repop @ /loc pos 594, -59, -42

thats not correct,I did a 5 hour wait...I read back in the notes and it said many mobs have placeholders now for killing them. One mob I never saw there was a pride lioness or something to that extent. All I know is I had stinking 2 wisps spawn on me and no lion. I think you have to kill the lions to get him to spawn in update. I'm assuming the wisp has a placeholder the question is I have no idea what it is.

Ok I have camped and Camped I dont think this is worth 4 days of camping... Matbe I'm just missing him but I have camped 4hrs at a time for the past four days @ 2 sessions a day really a bit longer each time but you know what I mean. I am done heh gl to all those who try and gratz on those who get him but he has got to be completely random.

Just killed Rama'naiand talking to guy who said he killed him just approx 20 mins ago also. It would be my guess he does have a PH

Don't believe killing anything helps him spawn but he did spawn at 05:41 AM on my server if that helps.

Ive left a post on here before under the alt Mirthicus, and I once again proclaim old ramen noodle to be completely random. After 3 hours of killing everything in the Druid Plain, including Pride Mistress, lionesses, the Elders, the Lightbringer, etc (all mult times), he finally spawned in the SW corner on the slope, approx 6 minutes before the server was to shut down for updates (4:54am HST). I defeated him and his pride very easily with a lvl 24 necro. we spent 4 hours 2 day camping the spawn killed wisp 2 times and all the lioness in the end ram just spawned without any intervention.

Well tonight (24th), I can confirm that killing lightbringer does in fact spawn Ramanai. He spawned after about 10secs after Lightbringer was killed ... not long after previous spawn.

They should start a Rank of killing for Lions, because you would be a Slayer or a Destroyer after most efforts.

lol, after checking and rechecking coordiantes several times i have found out that this guy is COMPLETELY random...at least on the Grobb server, a friend and i took turns camping the entire area for over 20 hrs and still a no show, even after killing several of the other grpd packs. not sure if its just the server or what.

thereis no PH for rama.. we seen him spawn 3 times with nobody around killin anything, and he spawned at the same time as a matriarch and 2 elders.. it's just random or timer mebbe

Vasuki is correct about the lioness PHer.
If Ram is not up, try killing all the linked lionesses (usually groups of 3-4). They seem to be PHers for a Named Lioness (maybe called Lioness Matriarch?) who spawns with about 3 savannah lioness adds.
The Matriarch appears to be the PHer for Ram

Ive just gotten the glimmering lightstone, there is no spawn time on rama'nai. Hes completely random. At level 21 i soloed him on my guard. IF youve camped him for over 2 hours you should just wait till the servers go down come back on and hell be up and kill him.

Exactly after we killed the Lightbringer Wisp for my friend Rama'nai spawned in the east.
So I think you need to kill the Lightbringer Wisp about 4 or 5 times to spawn Rama'nai.

I was able to solo this group today as a level 19 crusader. Buffs included:
Blessed Weapon (app II)
Vigor of Trust (app II)
Call to Arms (app II)
Toughness (app II)
Kept Demonstration of Faith (app II) up as it dropped and worked my Fighting Chance (heroic) the entire time. I had to run from the encounter three times.
First agro killed a single lioness... ran and waited for Toughness to reset as I regenned power and health.
Second agro was able to dispatch 2 lioness, ran, rinsed repeated.
Third agro a single lioness...
Was able to take Rama'nai solo though I ended with less than 20% health and 0 power. He dropped Cloak of the Cat and Mangle (Adept I).

He is a long spawn took me like 3 hours for him to pop, and I was told that he had been killed 2 1/2 hrs before that. I was killing every lioness and lion that spawned from the ring and I grouped a lvl 23 fury to help him get his kill. I didn't mentor (forgot lol) and dunno if he would have gotten exp anyway. But anyway he came up towards us from the east with his lionesses right behind him in a line. He didn't spawn in the ring but came straight towards it anyway.

he is not a 6 hour spawn i went to camp him right after server reset got there a 33 druid said he just kill him 10 min ago at 8 oclock at axactly 9 oclock he spawned at +598, -59, -50 the is all true but i dont htink hes a n hour spawn either its random................while hunting the wisp i saw him and killed him i camped the wisp for 3 hours and the lion did not spawn again.............

no joke, after killing lions for around an hour and a half he spawned right in front of me...big mob, so he's hard to miss- which is good. He spawned around 20 minutes after double arrow "majestic lion" mob spawned...,might be a coincidence though, not sure...

I was in a group today waiting for him, and some dude popped out from nowhere and attacked him in front of our nose. He spawned a little east of druid ring on the edge of the green grass, walking toward the ring.
I logged out and came back little later. He spawned again 3-3.5hrs after the first one in the same spot. There was no Elder/pride lioness spawn prior to this. I only killed a group of 3 normal lioness in the ring.
