To find Smakametta follow the tunnel through from the beach to Najena's Valley and then turn right. He is in the alcove there, behind the hut, with his forge.

 A mender can repair your worn or broken equipment, restoring it to it's full benefit. The higher value the equipment, the more it will cost to repair.
