I'm wondering if they have reworked this event. I've farmed the room a few times and every time i've seen the Master of the Guard up he's just spawned in the middle of the room. The ambush has triggered on us a plenty of times but its only footsoldiers and there is only a single spawn of like 10 of them. No waves and no named has spawned for me through the ambush.

*edit* after watching him spawn 4 more times and one ph I can confirm that he is NOT part of the ambush in the same room. His PH is a runnyeye sergeant that spawns solo in the middle of the room.

He drops good stuff, actually. Soloed with my above-average equipped 48 bruiser...dropped a legendary chest with a ruthenium cluster and Runneye Defender's Chestplate +12 Str, +8 agi, +8 sta, +30 health/power, +40 vs crush/pierce/slash, usable at level 38.

The Master of the Guard is the end result of a small ring event. To begin you must attack the group of goblins (usually with a Runnyeye Crusader) standing in front of the forge at loc 200.15, -40.72, -141.07. This is in one of the rooms that Duke Zoryll patrols. When you do this, eight Runnyeye footsoldiers will spawn in the tunnel nearby and begin running around. Kill them and the Master of the Guard spawns at the base of the tunnel.

Ok but where do you start the "Ambush"? How do you trigger ect?

The ambush event seems triggerable. There are 3 waves that rush you, no breaks. We must have received the low end of his loot table.

Reward was "Turquoise Stud".
4 int, 4 sta, 2 wis, 17 health, 21 power, 150 vs disease, 60 vs divine, 120 vs magic. Mitigation 37. Required: magic affinity 155, Mastery: magic affinity 180. Ear slot, 0.5 weight.
